The scenery in Boulder is breathtaking - you can find everything from lush forests and mountain trails to grassy fields and meadows. This particular session took place at one of our local trailheads, South Mesa, and offers all kinds of backgrounds, form the majestic mountain views to old stone walls. Nestled against the backdrop of the iconic Flatirons, South Mesa Trailhead offers an idyllic setting for a family photoshoot.

When I took photos of this family at the trailhead in Boulder, I could tell how much they loved each other just by looking at their faces. That's why it's so important to make sure that everyone feels comfortable during the shoot - if your kids or spouse are having fun then it will show through in the photos! I always say, if you feel uncomfortable, you'll look uncomfortable. So don't be afraid to let loose - throw some leaves around or jump into a pile of them together!
