Let’s Capture YOUR Story

Because Your Family Deserves More Than Just Posed Smiles | RMNP and Estes Park Family Photography

You want photos that capture the chaos, the love, and those little in-between moments—the ones that make your family your family. And what better place to do that than the breathtaking landscapes of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park? As a RMNP family photographer passionate about creating authentic connections and capturing natural moments, I’d be honored to help you preserve your family’s story in this iconic location. And if we spot a moose during your session, you might just see me get ridiculously excited—I’m always on the lookout for them! (But don’t worry, I’ll remind everyone to admire them from a safe distance—moose can be surprisingly feisty!)

Client Love for Rocky Mountain National Park Sessions

“We traveled all the way from Indiana so Jill could take our 10-year wedding anniversary pictures of us at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. When there was an unexpected snowstorm, Jill was very accommodating and worked us through the shoot knowing we couldn’t easily reschedule. Her patience and joyful nature during frustrating circumstances made our photoshoot fun and a great memory. The snow pictures turned out to be some of my favorites. We highly recommend Jill to anyone looking for a personable, extremely talented photographer.”

“Jill was incredible! She did our engagement and surprise proposal photos. We both agreed after seeing everything in Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park was the best spot to do the proposal. I was amazed at the Park. It was just magical. Jill worked with me from start to finish. She was edgy, kind, and handled our quirky personalities well. As a photographer myself, I am in love with Jill's work and admire her eye immensely. Meeting Jill and working with her on this proposal and session was one of the highlights of this trip. We will never forget it. She will always be a special part of Colorado for us.”

Why Choose Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park for Family Photos?

Unmatched Scenery
It might be my favorite place in the world. RMNP is a treasure trove of incredible landscapes, from majestic mountain vistas to lush wildflower meadows and dramatic rock formations. Every view is photo-worthy and offers a unique backdrop for your session.

Seasonal Beauty
RMNP shines year-round:

  • Fall: Vibrant gold aspens and crisp air make it the most popular season.

  • Winter: Snow-dusted peaks and peaceful scenes create a magical atmosphere.

  • Spring/Summer: Lush greenery, blooming wildflowers, and clear skies.

Pro Tip: The weather in RMNP is wild! It can go from sunny and warm to snowing in a matter of hours—sometimes minutes- and it’s happened! Be ready for anything (and don’t worry, I’ve got tips to help you prepare).

A Memorable Adventure

You’ll leave with not only stunning pictures but also lasting memories of exploring one of the most iconic spots in Colorado.

What to Expect During Your RMNP Family Photography Session

As a Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park family photographer, I specialize in capturing real moments and natural connections. My sessions are relaxed and fun, letting your family be themselves while I document the magic. We’ll start with some gentle posing to give you direction and help you feel comfortable—because I know it can feel a little awkward at first! But here’s the magic: some of the best photos happen when those poses fall apart, and we capture the genuine, unscripted moments that make your family unique.

Every family is different. Some families naturally fall into poses, while others thrive in playful, spontaneous interactions. We’ll figure out what works best for your family and go with it—whether that’s letting the kids run wild or settling into a cozy embrace. No two sessions are the same, and that’s what makes it so special.

And don’t worry about keeping the kids entertained—the park itself is an adventure! Exploring trails, spotting wildlife, and simply being surrounded by nature make it an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Planning Your RMNP Family Photography Session

Choosing the Best Time

  • Golden Hour: Early morning or late afternoon provides the most flattering light and fewer crowds. (I’m not afraid of being up before sunrise to make it happen!)

  • Weekdays: These are ideal for a quieter, more private experience. We can make weekends work but know that there will be other people around, and it can get really busy during fall! It can also mean a long line to get into the park.

Understanding Permits and Park Passes:

  • Family, maternity, and couples sessions DO NOT require a permit. For weddings or elopements, a permit is necessary—I can help guide you through the process.

  • Timed Entry Park Pass: From late May to early October, RMNP requires a timed entry reservation in addition to your standard park pass. I can help you navigate the process to ensure everything is set for your session.

What to Wear:

  • Neutral tones and earthy colors work beautifully against RMNP’s natural backdrop.

  • Layers are essential for staying comfortable in the park’s variable weather.

When you book with me, you’ll gain access to my style guide and client closet for outfit inspiration!
