Winter Model Style Guide: Cozy Boho.
Thanks so much for modeling for me! Here are the style guidelines for winter model sessions. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions. I also have a fairly large client closet and am happy to provide pieces to borrow. Please send me photos when planning outfits so I can offer up advice.
COLORS
Colors: Neutral Earth Tones with Pops of Warm Colors
Colors should go well together but not all be matching.
Some Warm Winter Color Palette Examples
Colors to Avoid: Neon, Bright Red, Bright Green
Styling DO’s
Natural fabrics that are comfortable, move and have texture
Long, flowy dresses and skirts photograph movement and light really well and I always recommend them! Longer is usually better when you have kids so you can move around easier.
Jeans are okay but be sure to pair them with some flowy, looser texture on top- chunky cardigan, statement jacket, etc.
Natural white or ivory versus pure white
Chambray blue instead of navy or sky blue
Statement rings and jewelry
Layering- belts, dusters, beanies, vests, etc
Color palette has everyone with a unique look but still looking cohesive
Nude color undergarments if dresses are sheer
Variety of textures
Brown, black or neutral shoes or boots
Cozy, knit blankets. Beanies. Scarves. Warm statement jackets.
Styling DONT’s
Stiff fabrics
Polo shirts
Matching outfits
Shoes that you won’t be able to walk around in
Super bright nail polish
Watches
Transition lenses
Jewelry that needs constant adjusting
Baseball hats, sunglasses, logos or any kinds of pictures, characters, etc.
Short, fitted dresses
I also use a styling service called Style & Select. You can fill out a quick questionnaire and it will give you outfit ideas. Links to buy are also provided but I often just use the service to get ideas. Code: SLAGTER2023
